well I have raced a few with the mods I have and it's always close but most of the time I pull on him, I think you should be able to take him.

Does the rider on the predator shift gears? i kick the crap outta my buddys z with yosh pipe, intake, rev box, and high comp. piston.

you might get the pred out of the hole being on a lighter bike and geared down. but id say once you get to about 3rd gear he will catch up and pass you.

i'm talking about before i had any mods. unless you call some nerf bars mods. i just dumped all the mods in it over the winter. face it 400 are slow. and they blow up fast. 3 buddy with 400's one suzuki and 2 kawi's all blown up. they're would all the way out from the factory. no room for improvement.
the race will come down to the rider, and the weight of the rider....if you have a serious advantage when it comes to modifications on the z...my kfx was highly modded.... like 450 the whole shabang a bang and i could pull infront of a pred...easily...when it was jsut piped it was a different story....i could win mabey 1 out of 10 races this is because the pred has a 100cc advantage and that makes a difference,

Mine is stock and I have never lost to a modded Z. I get them off the line and stay out front the whole time.

of course u do.. u have 100cc on them! a stock preddy would easily dominate a 400.. until u add some cc's. now i smoke just about all preddys

To say Z400s are slow and they blow up too easy is crazy! i know about ten people around my neighborhood and about half never change the oil and they still run. the z motor can make 50 horsepoer with the right mods. stock for stock yea the predator will win. add a pipe, cdi, cams, and learn how to ride and the z will win. I have rode an 05 pred with a white brothers pipe and I liked its power, especially the bottom end. When we raced my modded Z did beat him though in a drag race, but both quads can be made to run well.

Well I dont remeber any of my family racing the z400 against the pred!!! But I never liked the way the pred handled or rode or anything so even if its faster stock then a z400 that has full alba exhaust alba power up jet kit cdi rev kit and a 13t sprocket in the front... would much rather ride the z400.
