Does anyone know of a trailer hitch that can be put on a 400ex? I know it is not a utility quad and I have no intention of making it one.

Occasionally I do have the need to pull a light yard trailer for short distances. Any ideas??

I've seen one on ebay recently, it was listed for a 300ex, not sure if its the same thing or not.

This one doesn't list the 400EX. Does anyone else have a hitch for light duty yard work with a 400EX?

I'm not really setup to cut any metal though :( It would be best if I could just buy one.

Sorry it not the best picture, there no ball on it in this shot. This is my father-in-law's he pulls a small trailer around his farm with it and it seems to work pretty good.

How does it fasten to the swingarm?

It came with some longer bolts to use in place of the 4 that you loosen to adjust your chain tension. There is also a bracket that bolts on further up the swingarm.

Would it be better to have a hitch mounted to the subframe as in AZSCTACO's pic or to the swingarm like the others?

Id rather have it on the frame than the tab on the back of the swing arm, although on the fram the tonque weight will make the rear end sag alot and possibly make you just pull the front wheels in the air if theres any weight to the trailer.

I've got them on both of my '03 400ex ATVs. I bought them from Rocky Mountain ATV but after a quick search this evening I couldn't find one that called out the 400ex specifically. I have 2" balls on them and I use them to haul my PWC around from camp down to the boat ramp or beach. There's almost no tongue weight involved so I'm comfortable with the setup.

Google or Bing search, I used to do this all the time. Then I started looking at time stamps before I posted my thoughts on a 3+ year old thread.
