what would be the best way to remove the paint off a arms cus i want to repaint my arms these coming weeks and i need some ideas could i just ruff it up with sandpaper or should i sandblast it.please tell me your ideas thanks.

You can usually find a spray can paint stripper from your local auto parts store. That stuff dissolves paint pretty well. If you can't find it there, try walmart.

but see i have rust and paint chipping from my lower shock mount so i was just wondering if u could sand it.

Sand it with about a 220grit, then 400, then 800 to 1200. Then make sure to use an wax and grease remover so the paint doesn't "fisheye". Good luck

That is only necicary if you are trying to polish the a arm. The highest grit sand paper you will want to use is 180 grit. But you are right about the wax and grease remover.

I still have the train of thought of when I polished my 250R cylinder!:o
Def. use the wax and grease remover though!

well guys i sorry to say that i cant do it cus i cant get those blasted ball joints off the dam spindle.

CHECK FOR CRACKS!!!! This is a problem on lower 400ex shock mounts...happened to me, snapped clean off the a arm so be carfull!!

Take off both a arms, and spindles all together. Just mask off the spindles and hang the a arms from something, and paint away.

if you have easy acces to a sand blaster it will make your life whole lot easier

i might try taking everything off thanks, o btw the pickel fork doesnt work i tried for 10 minutes but it dont come off i think my pickel fork is to big or somthing.and yes i do have a sandblaster but would that ruin my ball joints.
