My '02 raptor is backfiring with an eigth of a throttle and not sure why?

Any suggestions on where to start looking?

i would think possible jetting problem. i was having something similar happen to mine and it was cause the valves were to tight.

i know exactly what it is they all do it go to www.raptortranny.com it has to do with your reverse rev limitor kicking in in all gears. when on the site look for reverse rev limiter bypass, simple to do.it will fix your problem and bypass the limitor. or the little wire unpluged right under your shifter.

Have you taking out the spark arrestor? I did that and my wheeler backfires when I start it. Also if you have any air leaks by your air filter it will do it also. It happened to a kid a know and flames shot out of the exhaust.:eek2:
