05 400 tranny problem

im haveing a seriously hard time getting into 2nd gear.itll go into all the other gears perfectly except 2nd.itll downshift through all gears fine but wont upshift into 2nd without really applying serious pressure to the shifter.sometimes itll just go into neutral.do i need a tranny already?ive adjusted the clutch and it dont help

sounds like you shoulda used your clutch when draging... i think 2nd is the first gear to go, i would guess the cog is chipped and is somewhere in the shift linkage... or i think when the wear its really hard to mesh the beat up cog...:ermm:

of course i used the clutch.found that my shifter was bent.i straightened it but it didnt help

Whatever bend your shift lever might have also bend the shift fork. That's an internal tranny piece that cannot be replaced without splitting the cases.

Don't know for sure if that's your problem but it sounds like a distinct posibility. Bent shift forks cause hard shifting into specific gears and they are usually bent by a strong blow to the shift lever.
