I run the 19 inch houser ones and if you got those you would need new shocks. I feel the ball joints are alot better on the long travle a-arms. But i dont know how much more travle it gives you.

Nausty if you get Long Travel arms you have got to get Long Travel Shocks so you would need new Elka`s. If not, remember Jeff said it would sit way to low and not work right?

You can get the Houser Long travel arms for 16 inch shocks, but keep in mind they are not really long travel. They use the same Hiem joints as the 19 inchers, but are for the shorter shock body. The only way to get the true long travel range of motion is to get the 19 inch shocks.

Stock 400ex shocks are 16" so if you have standard Elka shocks, then you should be able to get the +1 a-arms. Thats what Adam Sick told me.

Pro400EXC, Was Adam talking about +1 standard a-arms or +1 long travel a-arms?

I guess I didn't word it right. I meant long travel a-arms for the stock length(16") shocks that are plus 1. I was just woundering if they were worth and what you guys had to say about them. They will gain me a inch more of travel. I just want to know if its gonna be worth it cuz its 750 bucks I think and its to late to go back and get long travel shocks anyways.

Dude if your gonna go long travel, do it the right way with 19" shocks.

Long travel (19 1/4") housers, What color would be better for a yellow 400ex?

Well I was originally thinkin the red bottoms with the chrome tops but Houser is out of stock on the +1 chrome tops (and dont seem to know or care when they will have them) so I need to decide between black silver vein or red.

I was originally thinking red since it looks good with the chrome and I was thinking of changing the frame color to either red or yellow over the winter, but now since the chrome is not available what should I get.

Thnx

ive always like the way a glossy black upper a-arm and chrome lower a-arm...on any color bike...but thats just me.

who is chad duevel? Got a pic of it? and like I said 19 inch long travels are way out of the question and i'll be lucky if I can get enough money for these a-arms. My chocies basicly are 500 for +2 a-arms or 750 for a-arms that give me a extra inch of travel.

Check out Houser's website:

Duval is dominating the GNCC Pro-Production class. He even took an overall first place on his 500ex.

Duval is awesome. I bet he runs the 19 inch setup though.

hes def running the 16 inch front end not he 19 inch... look in the newest dirtwheels mag on the test of his fst/elka/505ex

they show a pic of the elka shocks and they are the same ones that i have just have rebound and the a-arms have the thing where they mount to lower on the a-arm down in between the 2 rails of the a-arms they are raised up like a reg travel a-arms(if any of that made sense to yinz haha)

also the shocks are only triple rates not quad rates:D

Well ok I looked at it you are right. That is weird I`m surprised he doesn`t run the 19 inch since he can get like whatever he wants. So your telling me I could get those A-Arms and they would work with the Shocks I got now?

Nausty

yup. A extra inch of travel. Does anyone know how much travel elka triples w/ ssd would have on stock a-arms? Oh yah those are definitely 16 inch shocks.

Sry bro's, but Bryan Baker is the points leader. At least thats what I read in my last mag.

Also Greg Trew is the man,he just needs more luck.

One more thing, Warrior Man, Adam Sick said all 400ex shocks besides long-travel are 16", and regular TCS,ELKA,Works, and so on will work with the Houser +1 long travels.

Yeah I like Greg Trew too. He rides a TC 400, smart man. I wonder what Motor mods are done to it?

That`s cool if I ever went to get new A-Arms I would most likely get those Long Travels then. They seem to be built stronger and look better.
