Ok guys, what type of air filter is better on the new 450R?? definitely going with the K&N, but is the K&N air box lid cover better or the K&N intake snorkel with the stock lid off better? Also, am going to go with either the Rossier Pipe, or the DASA.. and I dont know much about jet kits.. what should I go with??
Thanks again for everything!!

Use the K&N filter with outerwears and get the EHS lid and jet it for no lid. Works great! Ive used this setup for racing XC and havent had any problems with water.

I run a K&N with an outerwear and a EHS Racing lid. I clean/oil the filter and clean the outerwears/EHS lid when needed and i have never had any issues.

I use the stock filter with an Outerwear air box cover with the lid off. Runs great and I keep up with or beat other R's with aftermarket filters.

If you go with a Rossier pipe, Rossier will send you information about jetting. For the '06 450R they suggest going with a 160 main jet, 48 pilot jet, using a CRF adjustable needle and putting the clip in the fourth position down. I can't remember what they said about the air/fuel screw. This set up is without an airbox lid or with the use of something like the EHS lid. Also the set up was for 50-90F at 1000ft above sea level. Hope that helps.

I'm in the process of setting up my 450 now so I don't know if those jetting specs are spot on yet.

for the 06 450r you dont even need an air filter. the stock one is just as good as the kandn and there was no gain in horsepower so basically you are wasting your money. kandn's arent good for dirt either.

UNI. K&N's will let dirt in if you ride in dusty conditions. I had good luck with the stock filter in my 05.

Pro-Design kit w/ k&n with outerwears airbox cover and 1 on the intake snorkel. Mine's an '04 though :( Remove the lid on the '06 and then buy a jet kit and remove the exhaust restrictor
