I have my hrc cam, pipe and filter so stock gearing is great with 2nd gear starts.
My freind had a stock motor and really liked his 13/39 gearing when his was stock. He had just piped his and installed a hotcam st2 and he was considering going back to 14 tooth up front so you may want to try 14/39 or only change the front 13/38. any of those 3 should work great for you

Go with stock gearing...next time your in second starting, remember...pin it to win it and that will solve all your problems.

don't just pin it wide open, but do keep your revs up. i had a pro friend tell me instead of pumpin the gas to hold it steady at a high rpm and it will launch off the line instead of bogging. so far it has worked great. holeshots are what i count on.

that is a second gear start.

You can pin it wide open to start on a stock motor...its not gonna hurt it.

i hold it half throttle on the holeshot which is pretty much on the rev limiter. 2nd gear and ease the clutch out. The 06 likes a smooth linear throttle push, not a punchy stabby kinda throttle, i have 18's and stock gearing.

i like to punch it and ease out the clutch in second gear for a holeshot.

What rear tires do you have. I have 18 on rear and stock gearing and I just love it for holeshots. Always atleast top 2
