Low Octane (87) VS HIGH GRADE FUEL (94): Does it Affect your starting
=============================================

Do you find a noticable difference between these 2 fuels? I did a test and the high octane make's the bike start MUCH easier. Do you find the same results? Do you run 87?

My reason for running 94 for a reason other than the easy starting, and zing, the 94 grade fuel actually makes your engine run cooler.

Goodbye 87, hello 94:devil:

What are your thoughts?

Imo you shouldnt run anything below 94 in quads.. :)

94 makes it hard to start dummy, its all in your head. plus it takes 1/4 second to start my quad.

94 octane is more resistant to burning then 87, so it wont fire as good. but if u have a high comp piston then high octane is needed

Ive always ran 87. But if my compression was higher than stock then i would run high octane

I hope to F*** your joking. You are DUMB as F*** if that's how you think it goes. Who the F*** taught you about engines?!

does any1 agree with me?

lets not get this shut down before i prove a point

edit, when i say its hard to start with the 94 i wasnt saying it was actually hard to start, im just saying it would be easier with 87, and u would get more power. on a stock Z400 that is

now on a banshee or yfz etc u would need 91 min

dieselboy, please explain ur theory

:huh ... I hope your joking. The lower the octane the more combustible it is. 87 will ignite faster than a higher octane fuel. That's why you cant run 87 in an engine with say 13:1 compression or else it will get pre detonation, thats when you need the higher octane fuel so it doesnt ignite off the compression and heat of the engine. It will only ignite when the spark plug fires. So calm down before you go bashin.

You just got your own thread closed kid. This is your only warning from me - next step is the boot!

Why dont you start another one and tell us how GM's Duramax is the same motor as the old 6.2 and 6.5 diesels... :rolleyes:

Who taught you about engines - let alone diesel motors??? If needed, I can bring a few of your quotes back or the entire thread. :eek2:
