My friend needs money and he is gonna get rid of his 2003 Z400. He has alot of aftermarket on it and extra parts and even a frame ( just in case, stock frame is fine yet). He just put on new tires and has a set of studded tires too. I would have to sell my 400ex to get it, so what do u guys think I should do? http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid202/pe253456d8318f67bdf687e4d00df59e9/efe1d8ea.jpg

It is lowered for ice racing right now and yeah.. its pretty low... http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid202/p0b8e292e76eeb3ab347f830173e74554/efe1d847.jpg

Here is my 400ex I would be selling. http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid143/p351cf1107016718d8baa57363b5bcb97/f68ebead.jpg

Both motors are stock. The Z400 has a Team Suzuki Yoshi slip on and I just have an HMF slip on.

^ What did you just say? :huh

Ride the z400 first, The only thing the z has over the ex is liquid cooling, in my opinion the 400ex is the better quad still, ride the z and if you like it better then go for it. :)

I have ridden the Z and I like it, the only thing is im sure it will have its share of problems unlike my ex. The main reason I want it is because it is set up for ice racing and thats what I want to do next winter. He wants $3000, think thats a fair price?

It's really up to you in the end. I would think it thoroughly through first (couple days). Make sure the price he wants is justifiable. Is it worth the hastle of selling my bike? Would I get enough for my ex? Was it maintained well?

One piece of advice.. don't be in a rush to sell your machine. That's when you make terrible mistakes. It's worth the wait if you can get a good price, and eventually someone's going to come along and buy it for a fair price.

Good luck.

You're not goign to be getting that much more power, so IMO its not worth it. Just start saving your money and once you have enough, sell your 400 and buy a 450r.

Your not going to get the right amount of cash outta your ex. Keep the ex IMO. All the z400 has over it is liquid cooled, and a couple more mph's on top end, thats it.
