i was looking at the lonestar +3+1 lontravel and the +3+1 race(standard-i think) and i was wondering what the easiest way to tell me the difference is between them. they are the same width and forward but the longtravel and standard mess me up. wouldnt the +3+1 standard sort do the same or no?? im confused and POLISH which doesnt help. LOL.

Standard travel is just the same as stock length shock. Long travel requires a longer than stock length stock which is anywhere from 17.5 to 20.5" for a common long travel shock. Long travel helps by giving you more travel to smooth out very harsh hits and typical stuff you run into if you are a serious racer.

I just tacken off a +3 STD travell ive raced this set up for 2 years it verry hard to get your shocks set up and my weight is 169 and running a 300lbs springs when i should be runing 240lbs srings. I updated to a laeger +3 T-pin and the first ride was awsome

well, actually u dont get more travel, not really gettin deep into explaining it but it's more personal preference.. everyone thinks pros run them so they need them, no, b/c if u run any set up, as long as its dailed in right it will perform just as well.. but the truth and biggest diff between the both is bout 500-600 dollars if not more, after buyin the a-arms and shocks

ive run both in a few different configurations. if the shocks are set up right, there wont be much felt difference.

ive been told repeatedly that the LT shock gives the builder more to work with but i am no expert at anything so i have to go with that:p

i have been extremely happy with my LT set up, i just wish i could ride it more often
