I don't really want to play a guessing game when I know that alot of you guys probably have a similar setup so could someone please help me out with where a good place to start is...What size jets should i use in the 400 ex that is listed in my sig, with the addition of a bore to 416, JE10.8 piston, a hotcam stageI, and a k&n powerlid. I ride mostly trails, ground freestyle, and dunes.

I would go with the 160. The 42 pilot is a must. 38 is the stock pilot.
I see you say its jetted. Are you running a dyno jet kit or stock jets?

From what I have learned it seems that all jets are not the same. If you have a dynojet kit they say that a pilot jet change is not needed. Has to do with the needle taper design. Get it close and then bring it over to my place next weekend. Had a guy call me and he wants to bring his crew out and do some filming, quads and dirtbikes. we can work out your jetting then.wont take long and I have a selection of jets for dynojet kits. If you want to use stock jetting and pilots then the honda dealer is about 2 miles away. think about that and let me know. you are useing a d.j. kit yea, put in a 165 and try it.keep an eye on your exhaust temp. The headpipe gets real hot when its too lean. kinda of an indicator to look for when you have it close but not perfect.

I would still change the pilot to a 42. It is nice not to have to use the choke to start.

When I got my quad i had the honda dealer I bought it at do the pipe and jets all in one shot, it did come with a kit but i would have to check out who it is made by. Pit/wood, my riding buddy that is in that video is putting hot cams in his z400 this week and i'll get mine up and going then I'll let you know when were ready to ride out at your place. Spring is coming soon!!!!!
