i have been having trouble with the timing chains. Do they make a heavy duty timing chain for a 300ex?

I may be WAAAAYYY off here.. I haven't doen it.. so take it for what it's worth (not much).

But, I beleive I've heard that you can use the 2001 400ex timing chain on the 300ex as a heavy duty chain.

I'm sure someone here can tell me wether, or not, I'm full of crapola.. lol.

D.I.D. makes one. I see them on eBay all the time. They're about $50. On that note though, what kind of problems are you having with your stock chain? I have used the same one 3 times for my engine rebuilds and it still hasn't failed yet, and come to think of it, I've never heard of anyone having a problem with them.
