i'll start with the fywheel. ricky stator sells lightened flywheels 200 grams or just over i think 7 oz. this is not as light as a cr ignition, so how do these work on trails? or mainly for dune and drags still? The other is i'am planning on buying a new stator for my complete rebuild should i get the 100w or 200w ricky stator? Not going to add any lights but figured the extra juice would help spark, etc. Or just a waste and you won't see any gain. Does running a bigger stator put anymore of a load on the motor? i wouldn't think so?

The lighting coils are completely separate from the ignition coils on the stator. A 200W stator has exactly the same spark as a 100W stator.

The difference between a 100W and 200W stator is in the lighting coils. A 200W uses heavier wire, but not as many turns. This reduces voltage output at low rpms (at idle, you can barely see my headlights), but allows you to pull more current at full voltage. On a stock stator, you can only pull about 10 amps, but the 200W stator will supply a full 20 amps before it overheats.

No, the 200W stator does not put extra load on the engine. However, if you're not running lights, a 200W stator is completely worthless.

just what i kind of figured. do you know about the lighter flywheel? I'am sure somebody is running one? I would consider buying one if it is trailable at least more than the cr ignition. a friend with a 450r has a 4oz lightened flywheel and it doesn't seem to have any ill effect at all

I've run a Ricky Stator lightened flywheel. I've never had any problems stalling, and have noticed a slight boost in acceleration.

My riding partners aren't too happy with my roost, though

so it sounds like this would be worth getting, even if it is just for the dunes

I bought a 100w stator from them a couple months ago. good place...
