Hey when i got my x it looked like crap. But after getting new plastics for it, it looks real nice. But u could always buy a graphics kit, u could paint or powder coat , and if ur bored just get a dremel tool or buffer etc and start polishing ur bumper, grab bar, nerfs etc.

Heres a list of stuff i could do for free:
```````````````````````
Paint hubs......blue???...
`````````````````
stuff that costs money
```````````````````
Blue seat Cover
I need New rear plastics.(the ones have are CRAP)
Should i do this?
Or should i just leave the hubs and shocks red, and just get a graphics kit, and a new seat cover?
Oh, BTW Im looking for some used rear white plastic.Has to be in fairly good shape.
I would say new seat cover and graphics kit and it would look pretty sweet. Maybe wash it and use some of that mop & glo or pledge to shine up your plastic a little it also helps get the mud off after riding. Another idea might be to spend a little money on some chrome pieces to dress or shine it up a little(i.e. thumb throttle cover, brake reservoir cover, etc). You might also consider using the plastic renew on your rear white plastic. I had an 87 like the one in your pic and I did the plastic renew and it turned out sweet. Made it look new, took a lot of time but was well worth it.
Ironically the plastic on my 250 was cracked in the back also were the curve for the fender comes down to the seat. Someone rearended me. I had someone fix it and it worked pretty good. You can also go to some golf cart manufacturers or agricultural water tank manufacturers and they can plastic weld in for you if its not to bad. It cost me 50 bucks to fix mine but I wanted to keep the plastic original.
Im Looking at graphics kits in RockeyMountainAtv, and ive found a blue set with alittle yellow,a fairly nice sized white stripe, and black. Would this look good?
(there for a 250R, could I custom cut them alittle?)
Also, if i order this graphics set, does the seat graphics come with it too?
It should say, graphics kit or graphics kit w/ seatcover. I think they run about 125 for whole kit with seatcover. They are in all the dirtwheels magazines also to get an idea of price.
I think i know what im gonna do.
I just got my JL catalog today, and i found a cool looking flame seat cover :) Im thinking of making the flames aqua(because my front plastic is dark blue.and where the flames arent, ill have it white. Hows that sound?
Some blue shockwears?
`````````````````
ive got it narrowed down
````````````````````
Seat-(blueflames,white backgrounds)+70
Shockwears(blue) +30
15t front sprocket +18
Painting Hubs Dark Blue +00
`````
total: 118$(I went alittle bit over, but thats aight,ill scrape the bottom for somemore)

What ya guys think about it? Good plan?Or not so good?

Hey i read that u were thinking about getting a graphics kit for a 250R and cutting it to fit. Well thats exactly what i did. I didnt like any graphics made for my quad so i got them that fit the R and cut them to fit. I dont have a scanner but i can see if i can use my neighbors and then i could post a pic so u could see what it looks like.

i would say save intil you have enough for some shocks they make a huge dif. and you will be faster on the track and it will make ya look a little better

07-30-2002, 02:30 PM
yea, dont worry so much about it lookin great , get some suspension/handling "hop-ups" , you will be glad you did...

No one wants a nice lookin quad that rides like sh-t

I would say a combination of both. Nobody wants a great riding quad that looks like crap either.

Isn't the 250X plastic design the same as the 300ex? I thought the 300 was a bored out 250 with Electric Start...not sure though......

Yep.

But, I cant find any graphics that arent TOTALLY cheesy, or the right color.Oh well, Ill just get this stuff done.And no, I dont want to spend around 500 bucks for a nice pair of shocks if im not racin hard-core.I dont have that kind of money,Ill get this stuff done first.

Rastus

If i get some i want to get some Elkas. ive heard to much bad stuff about works. like my friends 250X. he has Works shocks. They suck! Those things bottom before my stockers do!

08-03-2002, 10:43 AM
hey 250xer you might also want to do some gear ratios as far a power wise goes man.

honda250xrider
08-03-2002, 05:08 PM
your friend must not have them vavled or something is wrong with them does he have gas in them? or anything because works shocks are a huge dif. over stock... you should not bottom out hardly.... on some acconascions you do bottom out but on mine i have works and they are great!! i do not bottom out and are 100% better than stock

08-04-2002, 01:18 PM
how about buying a set of weld on reinforcement rings they look trick there 27 bucks each which would leave u about enuff money to have them welded on i think grathic kits are a waste i like my quad to look clean besides when u screw up those sticker's it all has to come off seat cover to if you want it to look desent

Im probably not gonna get a graphics kit. Im gettin a flamed seat cover that matches my front plastic, but no graphics.Ive got my frame painted pretty sparkly metallic now :)
