probably hasnt got hot enough but if you ride and then sit with it runnung a couple min you should hear it kick on or see it

let it sit there when warm and rest your thumb on the throttle some you'll see it come on unless your temp sensor is bad.

Mine will usually only come on when I am doing slow trail riding.

You really can't hear it. Mine comes on all the time when trail riding. You can feel the heat coming from it. You can reach down and touch the blade and feel it turning. just be careful.

Do you still have your key hooked up? I'm not completely sure but i've been messing around with my new 06 450r kicker and the lights and the fan wouldn't work with the key disconnected.

How would I go about getting my fan to work with the key removed? I don't care about the lights but I like the idea of having the fan because I practice a lot on a small arenacross like track and the speeds never really get too fast.

The only time I've noticed that fan running was when I was hauling a girl through a trail slowly.

I'm not exactly sure on the 06's but the 04/5's if you removed the key the fan would NOT work no matter how hot you got it. I know this from experience, plug the key switch back in and, bam, fan works again. I am sure you could rewire it somehow.

You will not hear it come on and it is hard to even see it come on too. Here is a little trick I did. I took a "whiteout" bottle and brushed the brush across the fan sides. The line is about 1/2" wide, this way it is easier to see the fan running while riding. The cooling system is very good on these bikes and so the fan will only come on while idleing or riding slow trails. I don't know anything about the key problem, seems if you wired it back to a kill switch it should still work cause the circuit is still open.

You cannot take the key out of the harness or your fan will not work and your bik ecan over heat i found that out today... unless you wire the key wires today you cannot remove it... just zip-tie it under your hood and forget about it...

i just bought an 04 w/ a baldwin motor, the fan is wired to run constantly. I was told that it is just grounded out but i am not certain. I can definatally hear it when the bike is running, even with the tc exhaust

just let the bike idle a few, after you ride alittle bit. so the bike is warmed up real good. it will turn on. unless theres a problem. if you ride at a fast pace its probably not going to come on, do to the air rushing throw the radiator keeping it cool. outside temperture will have an effect on it too. :D

i dont even worry about mine. My temp light never comes on so its all good....lol. then agian I rarly ride around in 1st gear so that could be it. I have felt it come on many times. Makes me warm when im just wearing jeans and putting around.

Mine always comes on when its been idling for a good while. It will take at least 10 to 20 min of idleing or riding slow. and yeah there pretty quiet when they come on. Theres really no need to worry unless your temp light comes on.
