Bead Blast Stock Head Pipe

I bead blasted my stock head pipe... well about half way done.. I started thinking, "I'll bet that is a coating on there"

Anyone done this ?
suppose it'll rust?

Im sure it will rust you should ask pappy if he can moly coat it for you.

Isn't the 400ex headpipe stainless? Or, is that just the 450r headpipe?

couldnt tell you except that i have seen the stock head pipes rusted, or just nasty from lack of cleaning

mine kind of had a goldish tint... some kind of plating or coating

It is stainless. Not sure of what grade stainless. It will polish pretty nice but requires maintenance to keep it that way. Dirt gets baked on. I use a Scotch Brite Pad to clean it and a buffing wheel to polish.
