Best free photo editing software for mac osx?

Wat's the best free photo editing software for mac osx. i tried Gimp 2.0 or sumthin like that and i unstuffed the folder and there was no app in there. so wat's everybody's oppinions on the best free photo editing software for mac osx.

I've never used Gimp for Mac, only Windows. Its definately one of the better free applications out there. I love working with Photoshop though, unfortunately it's not "free."
