Jetting question

In the 2005's do they run a 148 jet as stock? I have a 142 to put in. When I remove the old one do I need anything else to put in there with the 142? My buddy thought that I had to put a collar on with it so it would work. Is this true?

why on earth would you put in a smaller jet? the whole point is to get more fuel to the motor;) .
