400ex or 450r

i want to start racing and i have a 400ex now should i race it now just to get a feel for racing or should i get a 450r and which one do u think is better.

He is asking whether it would be good to START racing on a 400ex or a 450r

The 400EX will be fine to start racing on. The 450 will be a better racer in the end, but you don't have to have the best to compete and have fun. I feel very comfortable on my 440EX... and have no problem doing everything that I can do on my 450r.:chinese:

start with the 400. get a feel for whats going on out there. learn to jump, corner, brake and so on. once you get a season under your belt the think about stepping up to a 450. If your in a begginner class everyone else should be on the same level as you.

yah, people arent gonna flat out outrun you (unless you suck), because in most series, once you win a race you have to move up to the next class

What the hell kind of series is that? Must keep out sandbaggers tho.

thanks for reading my post and thats what i was asking. so after i get a year of racing out of my 400ex i will sell it for a 450r.

it's just for the beginner class i think. if you win a race in the beginner class they make you move to c class or whatever the next level would be.

get both!

I'd start racing with what your comfortable with. And right now it would be the 400ex.
