Are there any downfalls to Yoshimura's new cherry bomb for the new ltr 450. Ive heard it is all gains and no loss but a couple people told me this system could only decrease engine life. They say because of the increase spark it will damage your piston.

What do you think about this?

I think they don't know what they are talking about.

The cherry bomb is just a resistor that switches the EFI and Ignition timing map from the EPA mode to the uncorked mode.

All it does is add fuel (tom compensate for the removal if the airbox lid and exhaust restrictor) and change the point that the spark fires during the stroke. It doesn't "add spark", it just changes when it sparks.

It will not decrease you engine life. Well it is adding power, so it will decrease it a little, of course, but nothing of measurability.

I'd tell your buddies to do a little research, before pulling "facts" out of their butts. ;)

I have some buddies that are the same way.. lol. :D
