View Full Version : no third gear in honda 250R

ok i toor down my R and found that all the gears are there in the tranny but when i took the shifting forks out found that every single on was wore and the middle fork was wore the most would this cause the third gear to grind and act like its not there

ok i would be riding along and when i go to put it up into third gear it would grind almost like there was no gear there and stuff but all other gears work fine but whne i took the trike apart all gears were there none of them even showed any grinding to them but all the shifting forks were marded up

we have a 87 250x and the exact same thing happened. we tore the whole thing apart and replaced everything.. it worked perfect for the first 15 minutes but then acted up again... still dont know the problem

Clutch??? thats whats wrong with my 2-5 gear but if its grinding hummmm...

yeah but my clutchs are fine it only does it in third gear and no other i dont know would like to fix the problem before spring is here and i go to the dunes

it could be tranny bearing on your main shaft.
