Yea...wait to buy one before college...

Dell's tech support is a joke....

If you get a laptop, get a 3 yr warranty with it, you won't regrete doing that...

I just was in the market for a lap top and bought one. I did lots and lots of research. I also talked to many people since i didnt want to go out and waste my money. I ended up going with HP. Their lap tops are consistantly rated #1 is many magazines and online. And everyone who owns one swears by them, i didnt hear any sour comments about them. The problem with dell is, if something happens to it, being its software or hardware, you cannot fix it since they program it and design it differnt from the other companies and they have it set up so only then can service it. I looked into apples but i just cant justify having one unless you have a job where all you do is work with images or video. I dont really think their all their talked up to be since i use them in one of the labs at my school. Its also annoying how the OS works on them, i think windows is much easier. As for all the other companies, their products just werent rated as good. HP has excellent tech help to, this is one of the big pluses for HP and the performace is amazing. Im not sure at what your looking to spend but i got the zd8000 with all the the best add ons and it came to like $2200.

hey wait aa year cause there coming out with a New windows OP. Its called Windows Vista. It will require you to have 64 bit. Only AMD Athlon has that in Laptops right now ( i think ) but there expensive. Wait tell they come out with VIsta so you know your getting acompatiblle laptop so you dont get left behing with XP

I just got a Dell M70. It is pretty sweet. The total came to $3400 for the laptop and a bunch of accessories and gold technical support...but it was the taxpayesr money so I just bought the most expensive one I could. mwuhahaha
