View Full Version : Leaking coolant?

Ok I know that this will probably be this most dumb a** question ever but I just want to make sure. Last night i was going over my R and I had the rear end on top of a 5 gallon pail. While it was up like this, I noticed that there was coolant leaking out of the radiator. I realized that the coolant was coming out of the overflow tank since it was higher than the radiator top. Is this normal, or do I need a new cap? Thanks.

Most likely the top seal on the cap is bad, or the flange on the neck of the radiator is bent or damaged. it should not leak from there. if it does it will push coolant into the overflow(as it warms up) and then will suck air(not coolant from the overflow) when it coolas and the radiator will have an air pocket.
