The kick lever on my 04 450r was getting really hard to pull out to kick so i took it off and fixed that but now it won't stay in. Is there some kind of spring that holds it in?

ya there is a spring and it usally shoots pretty far when you take it apart

that happened to me on my old ttr125, I had to use a bungee cord to hold it in.

haha I would do that but I don't want to have to undo the stap if I kill it.

There's a little spring and a ball bearing in the kicker that wears out. Prolly cost less than $5 to fix.

Do you have to have the bearing too? I bought a spring so is that all I need or not? Thanks

yeah, you need the little ball bearing in there, that's what keeps it "locked" out and "locked" in. In other words, it doesn't flop in and out if the spring puts tension into 2 little recess'

I have been told that if you dont fill your engine with around 700-800 ml of oil that it will make it pop out if you go by the recomended amount of 650 ml of oil that is says to put in on the side case

could be just a rumor though:confused:

the same thing happened to me. the kick starter was hard to pull out, so i took it off and put some grease in there and put it back together without noticing the spring and ball bearing and the thing flopped all around when racing, causing me to kill it alot. so i finally took the kick starter off and seen that the ball was gone but the spring stayed in the hole so i got a new ball bearing and it worked just fine after that.

The same thing just happened to me, I cleaned out the kicker to only realize that the ball and spring were missing, i oredered new ones from the Honda dealer for $2.95, so hopefully they will be in before my race on sunday!?!?
