Why can't ATVS be street legal, they seem to me to be no more dangerous to be riding on the road than a motorcyle. I know manuverbility is probably better on a motorcycle, But i dont see why u cant put sum road tires, signals, nad mirrors, and it be legal. Obviously a helmet is needed.

probably becuase people will go crazy and want to go faster than they should...or maybe sound issues

there not from the dealer but they can become street legal with very few and in someplaces,no modifications. all you have to do in some places is get it insured, have a licence plateand a brake light. i think you will probale have to have a motorcycle licence to ride it though. there are alot of streetleagl quads in places like Arazona. you can buy street legal quad is europe

I think it would be sweet to ride around town in the summer. I live in KY and i dont think its legal unless its for farm usage. Ive never seen one around here.

Hellz ya, I'm street legal as long as I stay off the 2 main highways here, but I'm allowed to travel them 1-3km max if I am using them to switch trails. All other roads are a free for all, but I'm supposed to do 30km below the speed limit (I don't have a gauge so how am I supposed to know what I'm doing, lol).

I am pretty sure they arent categorized as motocycles because they have 4 wheels. There is a whole different set of requirements...most of which aren't feasible. I guess it just depends on your state.

when i get mine i am going to work on the local inspection site to see wut i have to do.

my buddy used to own a salvage shop up here(motorcycles) he moved to FL now, but he said the guy down there should pass a quad and a crf50 with pretty much no problems...need streets tires( duro's work or some 205/50/10 golf cart streeters work or there is a way you can put some 20's on your quad. i got pics that i will post in a second.( street tires, mirror, turns, brake/tail and headlight(yes most already have the brake/tail and head, but don't know if they are dot approved.) I will let you know wut they tell me when i go to do this in ohio.

I can't wait to get out there and go to bike nights with the quad and have people look. i'll have to get a extra capacity gas tank and I'll be set for the 20 mile ride to work. woot woothttp://69.171.84.179:800/Motorcycle%20Pics/20in_banshee.jpg

The main reason you can't have an ATV street legal is because you have to have a differential. The solid axle drive just don't get it for most states.

This Raptor is ugly as he!! if you ask me, but you can use it on the streets.

No the main reason in ohio is the fact that a motorcycle cant' have 4 wheels. only 2 or 3
