View Full Version : proper term for cryoe'ing ?should i do my gears ?

need to know so i can find where to get it done in U.K .. what is the proper term for cryo'ing your parts for extra strength and are there any draw backs ? looking at doing my gears and any other internals anyone can recommend , cant afford yukon gears at minute ..

yea, do all your gears, when i helped alky aka chef do his 425 psi I recomended doing all the gears.

he has the only 425 psi still running strong which was recently torn down to do a top end. still goin strong :D

like beerock said send everything in the lower nuts bolts i even asked the guy at www.onecryo.com about the clutch basket i had even though it was a hinson he said just separte it because of the rubber bushings and send it, counter balancer, balancer bearing holder all gears ,shafts, etc. he charges by the pound for the smaller items like 250r trannys so he said the more the merry. There was a 5 pound minium so i ended up sending just over 15 pounds. he even said he has done cases. went i got everything bad appreance wise didn't really tell much difference. but hold a gear that was threated and chime it and compare it to the same gear unthreated what a big difference you could tell by the sound that it was densier

found it in u.k now , i thought it was a coating but its a tempering process , i can see the benefit straight off ... thanks guys :D
