Im planning on running some xc races in district 10 KY. I have a 416 ex nothing really especail just piston. My quad is stock. Is running it that hard, for that long, gonna cause me engine probems with stock cooling? If so what is the cheapest way to keep it cool. I dont wanna damage my new rebuild.

The only options I can think of are scoops for like $60.00 if you want to spend more you could bet a larger oil tank I think the are around $200.00 but then again some of them look like they would block more air from the engine as well.

I don't think you'll have a problem as long as their are plenty of open spaces to get speed up and move air over the engine. I'm sure others would know better than me though.

As long as you keep moving, and your fins dont get packed full of mud you will be fine.

Some dude had 2 or 3 computer cooling fans on his oil cooler, it apparently worked real good.

Ebay computer fans, about 3 bucks. Grounded at the coil, hot lead tapped into hot wire on the key. They turn on when the key is turned. Been on my quad for about six months. So far water has not killed them even using the pressure washer.

zip tie it to the oil cooler and hook it up to the battery or somethin
i doubt they use much juice.... and i imagine running them on the back with in a pulling direct would work great.

YOu'll be fine with what you have.

Glad to see you running the series. I"m helping promote it and I'll be at all the races. Look for this quad on the line and stop and say Hi....:macho

Running synthetic oil will help reduce heat also.

Synthetic oil is available at any major automotive store. Also walmart sells it. Buy the appropriate grade for your temperatures by referring to the manual.

Just make sure you get a synthetic that has no friction modifiers in it, you don't want your clutch slipping.
