Ok, let me fill you in and maybe someone can offer some advice.

I bought this house and property 3 years ago, and 7 acres of it was fenced prior to the purchase (from records it was done in the late 80's) The fence was damaged by a storm a few years back and this fall i was able to remove the damaged section etc.

Well, the 3rd person to by a neighboring house decided last week that we had an issue with a 100 yard section of fence that borders his side yard with a piece of my property down in my woods. This is the same section that was leveled 2 summers ago by a very bad storm and inwhich I had removed the downed section.

When I first met the guy he seemed ok, and we discussed the fence and my intentions of removing it as soon as the "Run" dried up from spring run off, which I did do. So last week, his wife approaches my wife waving a property survey and asked her what she intended to do about our fence on THIER property. After reading the survey and walking the section i can agree that it is entirely possible the fence is somewhat either just across the property line or right on it.

Thier survey included the following:

Property line follows a meandering stream" and in another section stated No fences owned or shared

So, I had not heard anything more on the issue until around 11 am today when my neighbor knocks on the door. I asked him how he was doing and what I could do for him as I walked outside with him. This is pretty much how the conversation went....

Hello, good morning how are you

(N) Well I want to know who built a fence on my property?

Long Fence did that work around 12 years ago prior to my purchase of the house

(N)Well who moved it?

Moved what, the fence/

(N) Yes, someone fixed the fence and moved it 10 feet onto my property

I can assure I have never done anything more then tear down the damaged section

(N) NO, someone repaired and moved

~At this point I elected to walk him down to see who had done what because I knew I had not touched anything. After showing him there had been no movement of the fence, only the tear down of the damaged section and a rework of the "Run" to keep runoff from eroding the fence any further the conversation continued~

I can see where it could appear the fence is not in a straight line in this section, I have shown you I nor any of my family have modified any pre existing fencing at any point in time that we have owned this property

(N) I will get a survey done and get this straight

I too will hire a surveyor to get my own information and they should match yours

(N) Well If your going to have it surveyed thats fine, we will see what they say

I advise you to pay for your own survey so we can get this issue resolved. I do not need a fence in this area but would like the issue taken care of myself. I will have this run starightened out so that this area of my property stays wet only in the width of the "Run"

(N) The state might have something to say about you doing that

They shouldnt, it is a "Run" not a stream. A "Run" is a ditch that run off water flows thru and is not stream or spring fed

~ So we start walking back to my house and truthfully I am getting a bit hot. Ive been accused of doing something I did not do, then talked down to like I am some punk kid. As we walked he began talking again.

(N) We did not buy this house to have fences to look at

Really, it is visable from your home, I am sure you could plainly see it when you decided this was the house you wanted to buy

(N) there will be no fences, I can promise you that

~ This is the point where I had reached the point of highly pissed off~

Well chief, here is how it is going to be. I will have it surveyed and if indeed the fence is on your property, have fun removing it because i wouldnt piss on you if you were on fire at this point. And seeing how determined you are and how against having a fence on the property line I will assure you that in the end, you will be looking at a fence and I will also inform you that your side of it will be painted every so often in many differing bright colors and designs so that you will always remeber the day you made a total ***! out of yourself and pissed me off. I can not believe you can look me in the eye and accuse me of moving that fence, nor can I take the fact lightly you approached me in the manner you have. You sir are Looney

I at that point escorted him from my property

WTF is wrong with people!

not too mention i will be adding blue paint every 25 feet as per accordance with WV state law to denote no trespassing. the marks will be to code, 36 inches x 6 inches. the good part is no matter what he does to his property i cant see it:p

sounds kind of like my next door neighbor. we moved here about 6 months ago and there was no fence around the backyard, and we need one for the dog. so while me and my dad are putting up the fence our neighbor comes out and starts chewing us out because he doesnt want to look at OUR fence on OUR property. him and my dad exchanged words and he finally shut up but gives us dirty looks when ever he can.

we have plans for a new garage/shop next to our house and the property line goes into his yard quite a bit. so my dad decided he is going to make our new shop nice and WIDE instead of long so it sweeps way into his yard next to his house, but its still our property. the new garage is going up within the next few months so it will be an interesting spring:p

It just amazes me how people think.

if he would have asked about the fence and the property line we could have had a meaningful discussion with positive results. I do not care for the fence myself, and have repeated on more then one occasion my intent to eventually remove all of it.

instead, he made the approach with an accusation with no basis of fact or reasonable logic to allow his concern or arguement to bare fruit. he wanted grapes and bananas and all he ended up with was a ***** snadwich and now a pissed of neighbor.

Haha, you got it all planned out dont you?

That reminds me of a time when I went down to my land (we own 300 or so acres bout 1 hour away) anyway, Me and my cuzz's where riding and we come down to our feild and there is a hunter in the only tree in the feild in OUR deer stand. So after that we pretty much kicked them off our property. He tells us he had permission from OUR NEIGHBOR! Now have you ever hurd that one? Well after that we went out and bought like 20 no trespassing signs and put them facing the neighbors property :p

Be careful though, something like that happened here in Wisconsin and 6 people were shot...

Pappy, that's awesome what you're doing with the fence and you have every right too. It sucks that you have to deal with an immature, irrational neighbor like that and I hope you make him pay by having the ugliest fence ever created by man.

pappy i tell yah man, what is wrong with some people these days. i actually just made a post about our situation with a neighbor before i read this. it sounds like you got a real @$$hole on your hands but not as bad as us. our neighbor is taking us to court and trying with all of his might to get us kicked out by the town for running a business in our yard. paint that fence up as bright and flamboyent as heavenly possible!

trust me, i can hold a grudge. id prefer not to, but some folks just flat out deserve it.

the last person to own that house found out about trespassing on me as he had a party that last till the wee hours of the morning. as they got drunk and started wandering his property, i met them on mine with a 12 gauge and some useful words of advise. i have no use for people that do not respect others or treat others poorly unless they ask for it, which i feel this guy did and he will get all he deserves.

i will be heading out shortly to buy a few hundered no trespassing signs and 8 or 10 cans of blue paint. the only areas that will be signed and painted will be exactly where his property touches mine so he will know for certain its directed at him. and i know he just started working swing shift, i hope he can handle my john deere and chainsaw at 7 am. and the next time it snows, ill somehow manage to throw the curl just right and he can shovel his way out(yep, i kept his driveway clear just to be neighborly)

id imagine he will come up a few cats short also...

03-04-2006, 11:22 AM
With all the trespassing he must be doing to look at this fence, it would be pretty easy to mistake him for a deer and have a hunting accident.

that only works for cheney lol. Pappy that sucks. Im glad I have awesome neighbors at home and at my cottage. Our "neighbors" at our cottage only had a problem with us once and there beef was the fact that i was riding my quad down a private road. we own 3/8s of the road. The road ends at our property and part of our property is on it as well. They called the police and they didnt do anything cause it was a private road. Then time passed and they wanted it regraveled and we said no because we cant use it. things have been pretty good since tho.

Pappy

the rest of my neighbors are cool, infact my closest one bought his house simply because he knew WE wouldnt mind if he made noise and enjoyed his property.

the jackleg im dealing with is fresh from maryland, has an obvious superiority complex and has tried pushing other neighbors in the direction he feels he wants things to go.

well chump, the buck stops here. live and let live is my philosophy right up to the point you cross the line and try to tell me how things are going to be in regards to my life or what i own. i follow rules, obey the law and have no troubles that im aware of. so i have plenty of time to make this misarble sob pay for his mistake.

i could careless if the fence is 1/2 inch on his property and has to be torn down, there will be a new one in place before he gets 1 day of no fence to view. some people just push too far and i dont like being pushed at all:p

i am slowing down tho, 10 years ago i would have dismantled the fence with him:ermm: then as he crawled back to his house he could think about where it all went wrong:p

so we made a stop to home depot and painted his side dora the explorer pink, with blues clues blue stripes

he was so pissed! hahaha but he couldnt do one thing, and the best part was, the way our back yard sits, there is no way you can see the colors from looking at any angles of our house, but you can see them plain and clear on his

Dont worry pappy, My nieghbor is an *******!

During the summer on average we have 10-15 harleys at the house per week, sometimes every sunday. he complained to the land lord about the noise when this man rides a harley him self!

A month later.. I get my pup doberman and I had her on the line, I'm sitting in the garage bs'in with my dad working on the bikes I hear my dog scream, I turn around my nieghbors lab jumped the fence and had my doberman by the neck. My dad ran out and had to punch the guys dog right in the head because he wouldnt let go. The guy just stood there and goes " I'm not getting bit " We took our dog to the vet and had to get stiches, we didnt say a word to the land lord. A week later our 15 year old austrailian ridge back barked 3 times, 3 TIMES! at 7:30am and he filed a complaint to the land lord, one day later, the dog was not outside, he filed a complaint.

2 Weeks later.. The man comes knocking on my door because I drive my dads truck and I go thru the yard. He continued to tell me he was going to tell the land lord, then guess what happened! The land lord came thru the yard in his truck I just laughed at the guy and said, hey look its Monty now and obviously sir he doesnt mind us driving down the yard because I have asked him.

1 week later... He files a complaint to my land lord about my four wheeler saying I disturb them while eatting dinner..

there has been 4-5 complaints since then and to be honest, if we had the money to afford another house and quit renting we would do it in a heart beat!

Now he stares at us everytime we are outside, his living room window is RIGHT in view of everything, when my step sister and her friends go swimming he stares, Its such bs, See the 2 windows on the one house, he looks out them, and the window in the background is where he stares the most.. :grr:

EDIT: you can see the guy in the window staring in the picture!!! :(

They ended up getting I think 4 years probation and some community service, and were told to never come into Edwardsville again or anywhere near the mayor. If they are caught in this area, then they will go to jail for a while.

trust me folks, this guy ill be kicking himself silly when im done. im not into calling the law, i can handle the mental part of driving him nuts without being a pansie and calling the police everytime he farts.

he will soon see what a bad neighbor is like and i will enjoy every minute of it. what he doesnt know is that i can hear every word he says thanks to the acustic properties of the holler and i will reap the satisfaction of listening to him moan and whine. my other neighbor called and asked if i wanted to help him build a fence between the jackleg and himself, he couldnt let me have all the fun:devil:

now the down side, im certain everytime cody or i ride he will call the police. the guy still thinks he lives in the city in maryland and will soon see that the police care little of what happens outside the city limits around here. its ok if they show up, most ride quads and bikes and i can always use some more customers:cool:

bahahha thats nothing i got a good story for you..

We moved into our little townshio about ehh 8 years ago and we where the one of the 3 house about 5 miles from civilaztion. wre had a good 40 acres of land to. well my dad wanted to start a nursery. he took it up with the township and yada yada. they wouldent pass it. they siad it would be high traffic zone and the road couldent handle it. even though there was a quary about 2 miles down the road and was only accesible from the road we lived on. anyways. within the next 7 years they put 578 house around us all dumping the traffic onto the main rode. 578 house!!!!!!! and the road cant handle a few trrucks in and out everyday? anyways the nighebos are little whiny s.o.b. es so we put rocks / boulders around a property for decoeration and such. a few weeks later a nigher puts a fence up around his property. we didnt care his property he can do wat he wants. so that dumb neighbor comes over and says i dont like them rocks there. and we said we dont like the fence and the new pool youve put in but we deal with it. he said i want you to do something about them. so there sitting there yellin my dad and the niehgber in the mean time i take get in our ford tractor (its a beast) and start pushing the boulders right threw his property threw he new fence and into his new pool. the neighbor is sitting and yellin and carring on yada yada so we said go ahead call the cops and all the damage that your son did to our trucks we will put that up in the air. the broke windows and stratch some doors and wrote on tralilers about 10000 in damange. So he went back in his house and havent talked to him in about 5 years.!!! :D :D :D

Geeze, I hate people like that. Why move out to the country and still bother folks? There is one guy in our neighborhood like that and pretty much everyone has threatened to beat him up. It sucks, but once you do that he leaves you alone.

trust me folks, this guy ill be kicking himself silly when im done. im not into calling the law, i can handle the mental part of driving him nuts without being a pansie and calling the police everytime he farts.

he will soon see what a bad neighbor is like and i will enjoy every minute of it. what he doesnt know is that i can hear every word he says thanks to the acustic properties of the holler and i will reap the satisfaction of listening to him moan and whine. my other neighbor called and asked if i wanted to help him build a fence between the jackleg and himself, he couldnt let me have all the fun:devil:

now the down side, im certain everytime cody or i ride he will call the police. the guy still thinks he lives in the city in maryland and will soon see that the police care little of what happens outside the city limits around here. its ok if they show up, most ride quads and bikes and i can always use some more customers:cool:

Give him hell, good sir. Good luck. Post pics.

Give him hell brotha. Make sure when you build your fence, Its atleast 1 foot over your property so he cant complain that your on his property when you paint it every month.

Also, you might want to think about building a nice new track for yourself and family as close to his property as you can and wake up at 6 every saturday for a few practice laps, or even better, get some strong and bright lighs on the wall and keep him up all night as they shine through his window. Theres nothing law enforcement can do if you ride on your own private property.

I am going shortly to get my signs and blue paint, and he will soon see syops in action.

I wont do anything illegal, and we will continue to ride at the times we do to keep our good standing with the other neighbors and fully comply to all applicable laws etc. ofcourse there is no noise ordanances or such so that is one huge grey area i will be happy to play in.

I think I will have the kids paint this old car i have here also, and park it in plain view of his front window in my woods to further aggrivate him. And i will be sure to move it every so often so he doesnt get used to it being in one spot:devil: then i have plans for a nice big deer stand that with further destroy his view (his view consists of his front yard and my beautiful wooded hillside and bottom)

Life is a b!tch, and then you meet me:cool:

That sucks Pappy i hate it when neighbors have to be like that. I have some problems with one of my neighbors that live behind me. Alright it was first a trailor court behind my house with about 12 trailors. The one School teacher owned her on lot on a double wide down there. This trailor court was a pain in the but because it smelled down there some, was kind of junky, had drunks, and load mounth smart @ss kids that like to do damage to stuff and would always be in your yard doing somethign no matter how many times you told them to leave.

So after my faimly and the other neighbors hear the good news about the trailor court not going to be there anymore. The school teacher that has a double wide on a foundation down there buys the whole area and it's kind of in alittle bit of a vally behind my house she buys 30 acres of land right up the vally. Well all is cool for about 2 years that she first owns the area she left i ride through her land to get to the woods on the hill side. Then she gets her bright idea to clear cut all of here land and the old trailor court roads is all paved from here house up behind my house and 4 other ones and it come sout farther up the road. So basicly she has all this land clear cut up over the hill and behind everyones house's so she can see everything this is going on.

Well the problem began when she decided to cut all the tree's behind my land that helped my backyard be shady. Well of course my parents are mad now because our backyard is now so sunny and our pen for our dogs has no shade. So we asked her if she could leave some up behind where are dogs pen is and she didn't want to be nice and do that she had to be smart about it and only leave like 3 tree's that aren't much of anything.

Well then not long after this she stoped me one day and said i could not ride through anymore because of her insurance but we even had paper's and stuff signed saying that we would not sue her if we got hurt on her land. So my dad and her got into it over this and turns out she won't let me or any of my friend on it anymore. So we asked the our other neighbor if we could make a trail from my backyard down through the woods and it's right next to the school teachers land and our trail go's right passed her house now so she can see us everytime we go down. Me and soem of my friend have loud pipes do and we go down the trial about everyday and come back late from riding soemtimes. So now she has to listen to a earfull of it and the trail is preatty darn close to her house and some of my friend tell me when i go by there house's that can't hear there tv's when i got passed. We also planted a bunch of tree's around our land and there starting to grow up so we can't see over the hill to her house much anymore.

She also owns alittle strip of land between my house and my best friends house. Which we had a trail through but now it's all groing up in weeds and stuff. But she is so nosey everytime we have soemthign going on such as party or fires she has to walk up and act like she is looking at her land to pipe up rocks and stuff. When i first got my sparks on my yfz and was testing it out riding up the road some she came up and had to see what was going on. She also put up posted signs everywhere so we put some up on our little bit of land face her way to make her made. She put posted signs the whole way down along our trail to about every 4 tree's there like 10 signs the whole way down. She still gives us dirty looks and stuff but we haven't had too much of a problem with her anymore. But maybe that's because it's winter.

My half brother had a problem with his neighbor before he lives there for a logn time and these new people just move in. My brother was cuting his grass when the neighbor came out sayign he was on his land. My brother shoped him the old land stakes. So then the neighbor is always comign on his land like riding there quads and stuff on it to. SO my rbnother put new stakes in and painted them bright ornage to show him. The neighbor go mad and made his stakes and put gloves facing my brothers way with the middel finger sticking up. So i guess they had there rounds and it's all kind of faded away. But the neighbor's dogs always come on my brothers land and his dogs always rip them up and chase them home. O well you got to try to make the best of it with the neighbor's.

not sure really, other then when the weather breaks which is very soon, cody will wreck havok getting practice in which will be done as earlier posted during our normal riding times. (no need to draw fire on an atv, we get enough bad press as it is)

i dont shoot much on my property, usually when a gun is fired something dies.

now i figure he will call the cops at the drop of hat, which is cool. i have nothing to hide nor do anything that the police will find in order to cause me problems. the ball really will be in his court. i will be much more active in that area of my land....chainsaws, quads, tractor, heck maybe even a picnic with some rowdy friends down there while he is entertaining city folk:bandit:

hey pappy i would check your local laws and what your property is classified as before you had any direct family members coming over to ride.

My parents built their house in 1989 and were the only ones in the neighborhood besides the neighbors right across the street and we owned 21 acres.

Well in about 1992 my uncle and his wife got married and we sold them about 6 acres for them to build a nice house and everything. Well i got my first quad in 2001-2002 and they were still together but soon after divorced and he moved out.

Well now these neighbors that have moved in since then have done nothing but complained and even my ex-aunt and her new ahole husband complain 24-7.

They went to the zoning board and said that I had a "race track" on my own property which i certainly do not and I had to pay 250 dollars for the court date and everything and i was limited to direct family members only riding at my house because i had a couple jumps.

Well I went to that zoning board meeting about 6 months ago and since then we let it slide and i usually have 1-2 people that are friends up to ride with me and everytime we get the cops called on me. There are no sound laws since i live out in the county but it is really starting to tick me off as well.

So to piss them off we put orange safety net on the property line and have numerous pipes/trailers and so on sitting right in front of their house whcih faces my so called track and we get the cops called on us everytime but the police ask us if we cross our property we say no because we havent and he tells us there is nothing he can do.

So you might want to check into that. Just a though.

When I bought my town house it wasn't finished yet, so we went through and decided everything we wanted and another window in the living room was one of those things. Well beside where we live there is another house but the back of it faces the side where the window went in. Well when we started moving in the owner of the company came up to us and said that we are going to have a problem with this guy because the day they put this window in he called and complained because we were invading is privacy. So I being the kind of guy I am went out and got me a telescope, and stuck the end of it threw my blinds right at the guys back door (note: I never used it). So a few days go by and the cops come and I explained everything and they kinda chuckled and asked if I could remove it, so I did. Then winter hits, I go out back to get my venison of the girl one night and noticed snowmobile tracks threw my yard, look over at his house and what do ya know there it sat under his deck! I am very happy to announce that he did not drive threw my yard again that winter (especially since some key thing to starting a snowmobile were missing and to this day I still have them)! But since then I sold my house to move into the sticks of Pa, and now I have a blast with all my new neighbors(in we all have fun)!

...being a new homeowner myself, I cannot believe someone would confront their "new" neighbors after being the "newbie" on the block, like he confronted you. Some people, most, are complete arseholes.

I'm knocking on wood right now - so far my neighbors that I've met seem to be pretty good. If you pass each other, you get the wave. If your working in your yard and see each other, a quick "Hello" is exchanged, and sometimes help is offered.

This was my biggest worry when we bought our house. You can find the perfect house, perfect piece of land, have inspectors look it over 100x and your purchase can still turn out to be a complete nightmare - due to a-hole neighbors. Too bad you cant interview new home owners/neighbors before property is purchased.

i plow all the roads in here, all the driveways, cut fire wood, work on cars/trucks atv's tractors chainsaws, plow gardens, mow brush ,...you name it, for everyone in here. i ask nothing in return other then a smile and a wave in passing. so having 1 prick to deal with concerns me not. and even before i put up the signs i visited the other neighbor to be certain he would not be affected by this. he thought it was the thing to do also, infact we will be doing his property line soon that borders this d!ck,so now he will have 2 neighboring property lines that will look like crap.

and to further tick him off, im going to try and buy a small 2 acre lot that borders him on the other side.....and you geussed it...that will be 3 sides posted all at him:macho

I actually have an encounter with a bad neighbor, and the sad part is my neighbor is my aunt and uncle.

This past summer at our family's 4th of July party I was talking to my uncle about a little strip of land that they never use (huge weeds and little trees grow there) and asked if it'd be alright to build a mini-track there, just a few jumps to try out. Since he had built jumps for me before with his tractor (which he seemed to enjoy) he said it was alright. His exact words were "Ah hell, go nuts. We never use that area anyway." So over the next few days I busted out the bulldozer and worked on my dozing skills (which I realize aren't that great on a 1948 Dozer, talk about an antique). After a couple days, my dad helped out and we had a few decent jumps built. After a night of working on them and testing them out a bit, we're walking back to my house when my mom is waiting outside with a pretty unhappy look on her face. She tells me about how her sister (my aunt) had called complaining (more like ranting and raving) about how we did all that without anyone's permission and blah blah blah. She accused me of building the jumps without saying anything to EITHER of them (which is straight up a lie because I talked to her husband and you can read the exact quote up above). So of course my dad is pissed off also because he never really liked her and we put a lot of time (and gas) into these jumps.

My aunt's reasoning for us having to take down the jumps was that they were planning on moving to Alaska very soon AND/OR (she gave both of these reasons, obviously she was pulling them out of her a**) they needed that area to make a road to access their land...which didn't make any sense because they already had full access to their land. In fact, this part of their land would offer no access to their land, it'd basically be a big curve of a road which would be absolutely 100% pointless. So right there we knew they were just pulling this out of nowhere just to be pains in the a** about it. They gave me this big speech about "asking before you do something" and I just didn't say a damn word to them the entire time. I haven't really talked to them since after that and they're my neighbors and my aunt and uncle. I really lost a lot of respect for them when they decided to ruin a lot of fun and work for us just for the hell of it. Oh, and of course they never built a road to "access their land" or moved to Alaska...they haven't spoke of it since. I don't even ride the trails we share because I don't want anything to deal with people that cold to screw over their own blood for their own enjoyment.

a bit of an update.....

about 11am this jerkwad rolls in and i meet him on his way to my door. im pretty certain he knew he was on dangerous ground when he saw me:p

he starts blabbing about how wrong he was and apologizing like a 15 year old getting caught with the neighbors daughter:devil:

i let him speak his peace then i lit him up with everything i had and informed him the time for diplomacy was last weekend and he blew it. i did inform him that as a christian man i could forgive him but if he ever treated me that way again he would be leaving my presence with less teeth then he arrived with.

so, moral of this story.....

DONT JACK WITH ME:p (all kidding aside, i told him it was the right thing for him to apologize and i accepted it, and i also told him that i would remove the signs when i had a chance)

he did chuckle and told me that when he woke up and saw the signs he knew he had made a HUGE error in judgement:devil:

Key word there, when you get a chance. I bet they will be up for another 2 or 3 weeks. lol

sounds kind of like my next door neighbor. we moved here about 6 months ago and there was no fence around the backyard, and we need one for the dog. so while me and my dad are putting up the fence our neighbor comes out and starts chewing us out because he doesnt want to look at OUR fence on OUR property. him and my dad exchanged words and he finally shut up but gives us dirty looks when ever he can.

we have plans for a new garage/shop next to our house and the property line goes into his yard quite a bit. so my dad decided he is going to make our new shop nice and WIDE instead of long so it sweeps way into his yard next to his house, but its still our property. the new garage is going up within the next few months so it will be an interesting spring:p

Dude, if your property line goes into his yard then it's not his yard is it? His yard stops at the property line.

Thats what I was thinking... If its your property, its NOT his yard.

a picture below illustrates how we got revenge on my buddys neighbor... it clearly shows the property layout. before that sweet@$$ 10 ft tall chainlink fence with the verical slats was installed.. his jerk neighbors would call over my buddys dogs then phone the Dog Catcher on him. his nieghbor across the street even caught these people luring the dogs over with treats. So in turn, my buddy's name was in the paper several times for dogs astray and that sort of thing.. not good for someone that has a personal business in the area... soo in turn we put up this enormous fence.. it has the like vertical plastic siding slats in it so you cant even actually see through it... we were considering painting it pink on the neighbors side... but instead we just dipped he dogs' paws in black paint and had them walk all over the white plastic on the neighbors' side of the fence prior to standing the whole thing up... the whole time the neighbors just started at us outside their window.. def. one of the greatest days of my life lol

Pappy,
This was the best possible outcome considering how it all started. I applaud the fact that you listened to him and accepted his appology. It's also nice of you to take down the signs showing that you are not a jerk like your neighbor is and a better man than he. I know he will think twice before shooting his mouth off towards you again.

(But you are going to save the signs for possible future use right?? LOL)

No I have not removed any signs:macho

His wife refuses to even take thier kids to teh bus stop where she will have to associate with my family so screw'em

Now for an update....

Around noon, I heard voices, which usually makes me check things out because strangers are not welcome here. I went to the back door and saw a surveyor doing his thing. After they were done I rode down and saw all the new property markers and stakes, NOT ONE OF WHICH WAS ANY DIFFERENT THEN BEFORE:cool: The fence is on the porperty line just like I had explained and now he is out $400 for the survey, still has a fence to look at AND......I just bought a new post hole digger for my tractor:devil:

I dont think its anything more then I do not lie, tell people things that are not true or put myself in situations where I can be in the wrong too often. Its hard enough doing the right thing, I do not know how people that actually try and screw folks over get it all done in a day:p

That is why I bought the 3 point post hole digger. If I indeed was inccorect and the fence would need to be torn down, I would have kept my word and replaced it. I am not good at baseball, but I do know how to cover my bases:p

Speaking about dumb neighbours ...... we have neighbours on one side of us that I cannot stand . All the woman does is yell at her grandkids all day long ( the grandkids live with them) and their little poodle is always in our yard crapping and eating our dogs food when they aren't outside .

So here's how I fixed the problem of the dog comming in the yard . The other day when my parents were in town they brought Cuda ( collie/lab mix) over . I was looking out our back door when I seen the little poodle eating Cuda's food .... so I gently called Cuda over and opened up the door just a bit so that he could see this little mutt . I then proceeded to get Cuda all wired up and opened the door as fast as I could . I never seen a poodle so scared in all my life . Cuda chased him into the neighbours yard growling and barking at him .... the mutt was able to slip under a fence but I think Cuda nipped him on the a** cuz I heard a little yelp from the poodle . He has never come back into the yard since ... although I hope he tries in a few more months , when my new chocolate lab is full grown which he is expected to top the scales at over 100 lbs . :blah:

That's my story about the neighbours ..... all my other neighbours are fine and we all get along really well .

Pappy, you handled the whole initial confrontation a lot better than me. I would have had the guy in a frigun headlock in the bottom of the ditch. I would have taken his survey and shoved it up his anal cavity!
Then I would have went back in the house and finished whatever I was doing before I had to kick the neighbors arse.

Trust me, I am the guy that usually smacks you down long before i use diplomacy, I geuss I am getting older:confused: :p I still think I was in a bit of shock at the way he initially approached me, but was able to remain calm enough to let rational thought win out over a good right cross:devious:

I am pretty sure it's this poor sap's wife that is behind all this, he seems like he does what she say's or no poonani for him. It is still no excuse for behaving like a chump, but every guy knows what it's like when you woman isn't happy, noone is happy. I reckon he will spank the monkey seeing they are no better off then they were when this all started. Too bad, I enjoy good neighbors, almost as much as I enjoy tormenting bad ones:devil:

I wont paint the fence or anything, but I have been taking nice walks with my M-14 over my shoulder, or spending time near that fence investigating deer tracks or anything else I deem worthy with my .45 on my hip. (They do not like firearms, nor hunting so I figure I will make sure they get thier share of seeing both) And not too mention the occasional shot that rings out just too keep things interesting:chinese: Funny how that will keep you on your toes:p Im a common ******* if pushed, so please, do not paint me any other way:D

Yea, I hate it when this happens. Long time ago, about 8 years or so we had this problem for our farm down the road. This guy moves in next to our 12 acre pasture and he starts posting on our side of the line saying that we had our fence posted 5 feet off the plot at the court house. What's funny is that when we had bought the land, three years prior, is that we had a surveyor come out before we had fenced to show us a foot or so behind our property line along the forest line of the pasture and on up into the woods. So all we had to do was go back in our records and show him the survey. The guy was complaining about a line in DENSE forest and he wasn't planning on doing anything with it anyway? It was just in spite of, because the next day we went up to check on the horses and there were posted signs about 10 feet from our line. Guess he thought we hunted?  Even though we don't I was tempted to shoot a couple of his big *** white dogs that kept running our pony. ;)

Glad to hear you got it sorted pappy. I'd love to come up and have a pitbike race :p

ok, sounds like you taught him a lesson, now why don't you just let it go?
he disrespected you, appoligized like a man, so let it go.
I see no need in making this guys new home/land purchase (I'm sure it wasn't cheap either) make him miserable every day of his life in this house.
He said he was sorry, now quit acting like the neighborhood bully and move on.

Why would the wife want to have her kids associate with your kids when you did what you did? Justified or not, I just can't see them running to your house with a box of cookies. They are probaby affraid (and embarrassed of what they did). Cut them some slack is all I'm saying.

He made his bed, now he can lay in it. The slack was cut, right when I did not make him eat thru a straw for the rest of his life.

No bullying needed, I am merely doing what I am fully allowed by the law to do on my property, freedom life and liberty and all that.

Why would his wife swerve her mini van at my wife with my children on our 4 wheeler coming back from the bus stop? Not once but 3 days in a row. That stopped when I was on the quad and yes she did start to swerve until she saw it was me , not the wife. No mercy for them....none.

These folks attend church 4 or 5 times a week, spout how they are above most ordinary people and yet when not in the presence of a witness act like trash. The bible may forgive, maybe they should try and reading it instead of hiding behind it. I know all about forgiveness, it will be given when I feel they have earned it.

And why should I be concerned about his expense of his home purchase, he showed me no respect nor my property. No sir, I will not make confrontation, but I will make them rue the day they crossed the line of being a decent person. If more folks were held accountable for their actions, less people would treat others so poorly. Respect is earned, it is not given.

And I will have to think about what "I" did to start this mess, I geuss I should have bowed down, removed the fence, apologized the entire time I was being belittled and berated about something I did not do. Yeah that sounds like a great course of action, if you are a gimp with no self respect
