i want to know if a yfz rear shock would fit on a 400ex
and would it be better than stock??

no, the 400ex rear shock is one of the best rear shocks made for a stock quad. so keep it on there.

The only thing that the stock 400ex is "missing" is longer travel and different springs, you can get it rebuilt into a much better shock valved for your weight.

do i need to send it somewhere to revalve or should my local dealer should be able to do that?

Send it to GT Thunder. He can revalve it and re spring it I believe and you will be very pleased.

There are many companies that can do it, TCS, ELKA, GT Thunder and many others, you might want to do a search on this forum and then decide for yourself, or email those companies.

I doubt your local ATV dealer does it.

Also try C@D Racing, revalve/spring with zps and with they new valve it gains an inch of travel. I'll be able to tell you how it performs once my elkas arive.
