how can i tell if my balljoints are bad

over the winter i put on plus 2 arms. and i was thinking that maybe i would run some hare scrambles this season. im thinking ill just throw my stock arms on. but how can i check to see if the ball joints are any good with them being mounted.

With them on the quad you can just pull in and out at the top and bottom of the tire and you shouldn't feel any play.

Without them mounted you should just be able to move the ball joint by hand and tell if there is any play in it. If it moves freely and doesn't "pop" out of it's socket then they should be fine.

They shouldn't just flop around when you try to move them, they should have a nice firm feel to them.
