I just took out and cleaned my front sprocket on my XR100. When I put it back, I noticed it has some play in it. Not a lot, but it's a little wobbly. Is this normal or is it supposed to be unmovable?

400ex's do this, so I'd say it's normal since it's motor was derived from the XR400 and you have an XR100.

A slight amount of play is normal, as long as it's not the whole shaft thats moving.

I've noticed that most quad and motorcycles have play. sprocket only of course. i've noticed that a new one doens't have as much play as one that is almost worn out. how come they have play in the first place.
