View Full Version : What dash will work?

Looking for the smaller dash that clamps over the handlebars.Removed the original 300ex cover.I need one with the key switch,reverse and nuetral light.Anyone know if a 400ex or 250ex will work? I dont wont to drill out new plastic.Has anyone made something that would work?Also have to make a light bracket.

250x ignition/clamp cover fits perfectly on a 300ex. i just put one on mine

any year will work, they are all the same. i got an 87 because it was red in color. i forgot the color schemes but it looks great on a red 300ex. your existing bolts and rubber gromets fit perfectly in it too. the headlight assembly is pre cut with slats that align just like on the 250x. they should have came this way from factory instead of that gay fairing on the handlebars. :D

If I'm not mistaken I think maier has the dash things, please corret me if I'm wrong.

What colours can you get the 250x bar clamp in I have a yellow 300ex so I would want a black one. I could always paint it though!

they did not make a black one for 250x. thats what i originally wanted. i checked up on this and 87-88 are the only years with that style of clamp cover. the only color choice is passion red. you'll have to paint it another color.

I just thought os something. I imagine it has been thought of before but. Why cant we just cut the sides odd the stock plastic cover and leave the middle part that cover the bar clamp and holds the ignition.

Has anyone tryed my idea I just was wondering what it would look like before I did it. I can't see it being bad what would the differance be between that and an 88 250x dash

I used the dash off a 660r raptor, any year would work, Go to Ronnies.com, and order oem, it was only a few dollars, buy the 2 brakets and rubber gromets to hold it to the clamps, All total about $15. Looks good holds the key and up to 3 lights.

Well I cut the sides of my stock bar cover last night But I'm still not quite happy with it yet. I am thinking about heating the plastic up with a torch and molding it a little bit more to my liking. I will post some pics when I'm done.
