I am not worried about sound or price. So now that that is out of the way, which is a better upgrade from stock on a built 250x engine. The HMF sport series slip-on and White Brothers Head Pipe combo or The Sparks Racing X-4 exhaust.

P.S. If anyone has any pics of the X-4 pipe with the disc type spark arrestor, I would really like to see what it looks like.
-Thanks-

I would do a search they have a lot of threads about the best exhaust, but I will reply anyway cause I am a nice guy, lol.

The best out of the two I think is the hmf/whitebrothers combo, but I personally like the powerbomb with a Dr.D or a tc racing slip on myself. I have never run a sparks x4 before but I have heard good and bad things about it, I have never heard bad about the hmf or the white borthers so I say go with them. Hope this helps.

I haven't had any experience with the HMF/WB combo but I have heard great things about it. I have a sparks X4 with spark arrestor disks and it is an awesome pipe for the 300. The power gain is amazing and the fit and finish are excellent.

here's a pic before I bolted it on

sexy pipe man. maybe you should go with the spark x4 system, look like it performs well on the 300ex. you like that sparks system alot? how much better is it over stock and how much is it?

300exoh, are the plates on the back of the exhaust removable to adjust the output.

Thanks. I couldn't be happier with the sparks. There is no comparison to stock. Night and day. I noticed minor gains in low end power and huge gains in mid and top end. The disks really help quiet it down compared to the race version which makes it much more trail friendly. I think it was around $400. I know the race version is $350 but I can't remember exactly how much extra for the disks. I think it says on sparks website though. I know the price was very close to the HMF/WB combo. The sparks is less expensive than the new HMF full system though.

Sure are. It is the same setup that supertrapp uses. In fact the disks say supertrapp right on them.

I am looking to get some pretty good low end and mid gains which one is better for that?

Not real sure. My guess is that the HMF/WB combo might have more bottom end. The slip on may have a smaller inlet since it is intended to fit the stock headpipe. The smaller inlet would be slightly more restrictive which may give more bottom end power. Not positive on that though. I did notice some low end gains over stock with the sparks but not as much as the mid and upper range. Honestly I don't think you could go wrong with either pipe though.

Anytime. Best advise I can give would be to base your decision on price. The minor power difference between the two pipes probably isn't worth the extra money. If I had known more about the HMF/WB combo when I bought mine I may have gone with it myself. I have heard it is cheaper than the sparks but I haven't priced them myself.

I have priced them and as you know the sparks is about $399.00. The cheapest I found the HMF/WB combo for is around $350.00, so it is not that big of a difference. What do you think.

Like 300exOH said, "base you decision on price". I dont think there will be much of a difference between the 2 set-ups.

$50 sounds like a big price difference to me especially when you are talking less than 1 or 2 HP's. The HMF/WB combo sounds like the better deal to me.
