transferring a 250ex muffler to a recon?

New to this site. I actually posted this on the michigan sportsman forums and someone recommended I ask the experts over here. I have a broken muffler on a 2001 recon and access to a free 250 ex muffler. Looks easy enough to modify a bracket to mount it on there, I am just wondering about any engine adjustments that would need to be made if I do this switch? Also any changes in performance that could be expected? I apreciate any and all advice!

Well, it's the same motor.. so worst case, you may have to modify the rear bracket.. and perhaps have an automotive exuast shop reroute the midpipe for proper fitup. Other than that it "should" work fine.

I wouldnt really expect it to mess with the jetting.

what year bike does the pipe go to? what year is the recon?

Im like 70% shure if it is newer than 98?? but older than 05?? (w/e they changed) it will bolt up. but dont quote me on that.
