How fast does a 400ex actually go?

And do you know about how fast a 440ex with a yosi pipe and knn filter would go thanks. Because the guy that was selling the 440ex said that it would go 85+. But I dont really believe him.
Do you know?

Thanks

i do think the stock 400EX can go about 65MPH. i have seen a 416EX do 84MPH. i think if he has a 440 kit and a cam and the proper gearing it can probally go 85 plus.

So a 440 has the same top speed as a 400??? I dont see that being possible...... Higher displacement will give you more hp but not a faster top speed?????? I know you will not go 20 mph faster but you will gain from having 40 more CCs over stock....

Consider the above replies and mine....

A 465 kit will not out run a stock 400EX, unless you change one or two things.

The machine has a rev limiter. If you have a stock machine or even one with a 465 kit, the machine is not gonna gain anymore top speed with the stock gearing or the stock CDI.:D

you could have a million hp and not go faster then stock if gearing is the same. sure would flaten your eyeballs gettin there though.
going to a cdi without a rev limiter or a slightly higher one will not gaqin that many mph. the only real way to get more speed is to change gearing.

Can a stock 400ex pull 5th gear till it hits the rev limiter? I can't remember if it does.

Also if you go real fast to the rev limiter, won't it kinda push ya a few miles faster just cause you have the momentum?:huh

I was able to hit the rev limiter on a dirt or paved road.
