Okay at the races last weekend my rear shock came apart on a jump and crushed my airbox and bent my subframe. The shaft came unscrewed from the bottom mount, and the sping and everything fell out. It did this before so we just put some thread tape and loc-tighted it and put it back together. What is another way I can get it to work? I also am missing the plate that goes inbetween the spring and the bottom mount. Does anyone know where I can get one of those?

I have no clue, but that landing sure was rough. Bent my subframe, cruched airbox, crushed my airfilter even, and put a couple good dents in my swingarm.

The shaft is coming unscrewed from the bottom mount. I guess it vibrates itself loose or somthing. It looks like my threads are shot on mine, so I'm going to have to figure somthing else out.

Well I watched the tape of that race today, and it looks like I jumped 2 jumps without that shock. Just wondered if anyone had any other ideas on anyway to get the shock to stay together?

The threads are shot. Somone told me I could prolly get it Heli-coiled, but im not sure if they can do that to that shaft.

i don't know about the heli coil but what about tig welding the shaft to the lower mount for now, and when you rebuild replace the shaft if you? or a combination of the two heli and weld? i think that would be alot of stress for the heli-coil to stand up too, but that's just my 2 cents

Well the bottom mount is made of aluminum. Could I weld those two together?

no probably not forgot that the bottom was alum. try the heil coil maybe with a set screw drilled and taped to help it from unscrewing or a hole all the way threw with say an 1/8 spring pin with loctite to hold it in along with the spring pin itself. just throwing stuff out there, probably all bad ideas!
