quick help with stage 2 hotcam not an average question

i got a stage 2 hotcam that i didnt put in my 400ex i bought it like that. i called the guy asking y the cam is retard timing to the flywheel tdc he said that if you advance the cam time you get more hi/low power and if you retard it you get more hi/low power he wasent sure of the way it was and he said stock setting was like a mid power? can anyone help me out!!!?!?!?!?!?? :huh :huh :huh :huh :huh :confused: :confused: :confused: :confused:

i wanting to know if i move the cam if i can gain the top end power i like that more then low end but also i wanted to make sure nothing sounds wrong with this

do you have the head cover off to look at the cam on the timing sprocket? Or are you just inquiring about retarding or advanceing the timing.
