the best your going to do is using spray paint or POR 15. Since the ball joints are non removable you can't powdercoat them with out the boot burning/melting. I have a set of converted A-arms for sale if you want to go that route. They are stock A-arms but were professionally bored and have a sleeve and removable ball joint on them.

You should go online and buy a set of used aftermarket arms for around $200. Then get those chromed or powdercoated.

Like many of us it sounds like money is an issue:(

Is making it look pretty more imortant than making it handle good?

IMO if the stock arms are in good structual shape clean and prep them very well, don't take any short cuts or rush things. Prime, paint and clear coat them. Then spend your money on a decent set of shocks.

yea, ebay can be your best friend and worst enemy. There are alot of great people on there, but there are also alot of duds that ruin it for everyone.
