well the 04 05 are the same........the 06 is all different. The swingarm is longer the front a-arms are different, the whole motor is different even the cases. The air box is different as is the air filter.

Does an 06 have:
3 rings on the piston?
Twin row bearing carrier?

When you said that the a-arms are different, it's on the geometry or on the fixation on the frame??

So will my LSR +2 a-arms from my 04 fit on a 06 ?

Geometry the frame mounts are the same

Yea they will fit but you should use the 04 spindles too get the CORRECT Geometry.

Spindles are changed on the 06 to accomadate the different A-arms for the 06..

Carb is different
Grab bar is different
Motor is positioned to the right about 1/4"
Gas tank is a little different I bet they all would swap tho?
Steering stem is Shorter a few MM's
Throttle housing is different
Clutch cable is different
CDI is different
Headlight
Plastics
Air filter is WAY bigger

There are more differences but these are at the top of my head.

Is the price difference worth buying an 06 over an 05 if all i wanted to do was set it up for Dune Riding? (Long Travel, Full Exhaust, Cam, and Intake) Im pretty sure the difference in price is enough to pay for some good parts!

How much of a price difference?

Some 05 have crank bearing issues so I would be scared of that, But I Hate the E-start..

Touch choice Both good Quads.

If it were me I would find a 06 kicker and build that. It would cost a little more but in time it would be worth more too. Prices on the older 450rs have dropped considerably..
