ex hmf on a 450r

does anyone know if any problems would occur or what would happen if my friend put his old 400ex HMF sport series slip-on on a 450r, has anyone tried anything like this?

I dont think there would be any problems with an 400ex pipe on a 450r besides gettin the pipe to fit on the 450r

thansk a lot ya i was talking to another riding buddy of mine the other day and he said he put his old fmf pipe off his 400ex on his 450r and said he had to do some mounting modifications but i worked fine after that

The mounting is not even close. I tried it before, wasn't worth it to me to destroy a perfectly good pipe, when you could just sell it on here, and buy another used one for near the same price.

its really off by that much...hmm well i guess when my 450r shows we will see how far off it is, it was just gonna be temporary until i got a full system for it, but theres no sense wrecking a pipe too when i know hes got a few other people interested it

I think on the fmf the mount is just a strap thing that you can move around. On the hmf the mount is welded right on.

ya i think your right, i never checked the FMF out in real detail when i saw it, his HMF is welded i know that forsure, i was thinking about rigging something up and making it work but i might as well save up for a new full system, maybe a sparks, or a rossier, or a lrd :devil:
