Go brand new that way you are not getting someone else's beater.

i woud look for a barely used 05 or an 06 yfz. i dont trust the ones that have alot of mods already done to them. the more things that have been done the more chances the previous owner had to screw it up.

Agreed. Newer is always better, but if you can find one with a few bolt ons, Id go with it. However, if you do buy a used bike, have a trusted mehanic give it a once over, just to be safe.

Like the rest of them said.Get the new one.If you are just getting into mx you can have it ready to race with just a few modifications and you will have the peace of mind knowing it hasn't been beat on by anyone but you.

Unless you get lucky, I know your talking about 450's but i bought a 440 EX and it runs like a top, decked out for MX.

But its whatever you feel like.

It also depends on your budget...if i were to buy a 450r or a yfz i would most likely have to buy a used one that already has suspension mods done to it (I would try to stay away from a lot of motor mods) I just couldnt afford to buy a brand new bike and deck it out. Sometimes you find some highly modded bikes that are barely even ridden or the people just like modding and building them and never have time to ride the quad anyway so they just sit and then you end up getting an almost brand new bike with all the mods youll need. You just have to look around.
