I used to be a true team Nacs rider. I will get you some pics of my old bikes and a couple of the whole team as a group shot. Give me a few days to dig them up. The team consisted of Doug Gust,Dana Creech,Keith Little,Greg Little,Jimmy Elza,Josh Starrett,Leslie Wells and of course me. Oh we had blue plastic then the team switched to silver I should have pics of both.

He raced open pro -am at the nationals in tt and mx and one the championship.I was racing in 250B way back then.I remember a pic in dirtwheels along time ago of him jumping a tabletop at the Texas mx national and he was real high. It was a cool pic. Hey, sorry were hi jacking this thread. maybe we should start a new thread for this old stuff lol. I havent forgot those nacs pics. I have about 20 real cool ones Ive just got to get them scanned first.

I also raced the B class in the early 90's. I was a support rider for Nac's also..Darren was an awesome guy and a asset to quad racing...I will miss him.

there too classic to distory in the woods... so im tryin to find some good red ones or something that would go with the blue chassis...

Ill throw some more pics up in the hybrid section. Honestly i love the yz engine. the 4 speed tranny in it is insane. It is a whole lot easier to ride fast, way less shifting etc. jrspawn always said the yz450 engines were in his opinion the best engines for mx in a hybrid.... i would have to agree with him. He obviously knows WAY more than I do.

Techinacly when you buy a quad and pay taxes (if your state requires it) all your paying taxes on is the frame. So techincaly in most states that would be considered a trx250R even if it had a V8 setting in the frame lol.

ONE MORE TIME for clarification!!

250R = any quad that is powered by an ATC/TRX/CR/CRM 250R power plant. Heck, it can be an air cooled ATC/CR 250R power plant and it will still qualify as a TRX250R as long as it has 4 wheels and 250R geometry!! Any frame that uses the main items such as: 250R engine (OEM or aftermarket cylinders), 250R frame geometry, 250R suspension (OEM or aftermarket), 250R a-arms(OEM or aftermarket), swinger (OEM or aftermarket), plastics (not necessarily) and so forth is in fact a 250R. Hmmmm... TRX250R frame with a CR500 engine is more acceptable than non-Honda 250R 2-stroke motors.

Hybrid = 250R frame or frame geomrtry (OEM or aftermarket) quad that is NOT powered by a 2-stroke HONDA 250R (CR/CRM/ATC/TRX) engine.

jboz/Lawless - to repeat what was previously said: Aftermarket 250R frames are based off of OEM 250R geomerty and the usage of 250R based parts. Full blown aftermarket setup with 250R geometry Ti frame, T-pin front, LT suspension, no-link swinger, flip-top seat, some ridiculous sized motor that uses milled OEM 250R case halves and other parts is still a TRX250R.

Not too many of us would want to own an after market 250R frame that is based off of Blaster, Banshee or any other geometry.

Heck, back in the hay day of pingers many of the other teams used 250R geometry frames.Anybody remember the aftermarket Banshee frames that had 250R geometry and used 250R a-arms, swinger, suspension and other 250R parts (Plastic and radiator was Banshee). Team Green Kawasaki Tecate-4 frame used 250R geometry, plastics, a-arms, swinger, suspension and other parts. Neither one of the aforementioned setups is considered to be a TRX250R. Why? Because the very necessary Honda 250R power plant is missing.

All I was saying is lets agree to disagree and then the drama came from people who need to quit starting crap just for the sake of starting crap! They are the ones who make people like me leave this forum and tell my friends to stay away from the site. You hardly ever here of crap like this going on at atv scene,trx250r net ,or the hill climbers forum. Yes get back to showing peoples r's and lets all just get along or keep the stupid comments to ourselves.

We run the PA state harescramble series here in PA, they are usually 1 hr 45 min to 2 hours plus one lap depending on the track your at! It's a good time..

But can you beleive besides my boss and I there is only about 2 other 250rs! Sometimes we are the only 250rs! :D

I love the YFZ shocks on it. They are off of an 06 and ride REAL nice especially with the plus 2 arms. I tried a pair of 450r shocks and they just did not ride good. Still too stiff.

To be honest I am not sure the brand of arms. I got from a guy on here. The shocks were easy, I just had to grind the tops down a little to fit in the 250r mounts.

That's an old SCI Snow-Traxx conversion kit. It's about 20 yrs old now, as well as SCI is no longer in business.

As for how well it goes, it's like being able to ride you quad on snow, only you have a ton of traction and not alot of directional control. So, like a snowmobile, only it still feels like a quad.

Snow depth, I'm not sure on that. I've had the kit since '98 (I'm the 3rd owner), I've had it on my machine 8 winters, only trail rode it one weekend in '07, otherwise, just around the fields here by my house. Deepest snow I had it in was about ten inches of powder and it was just throwing about 12-foot roosts of snow the whole time.

The tracks do put a big load on the engine, so I think top speed on that one trail ride was about 48 MPH. But, my friends I was riding with were all on old sleds (they call it their antique week-end) so 45 was about top speed most of the trip.
