450r motor prob

today I was riding my 450r, not to hard just crusing around and then all the sudden I heard a grinding noise in the motor so i pulled in the clutch and stoped as fast as possible and shut it off. I kicked it over with one kick and it did it again and when reved the grinding went faster. So i just turned it off and pulld it back to and didnt drive it, what do you guys think i have not idea???

04-05 had a crank bearing problem and rod bearing failure. Mine didnt grind. It knocked very loud. It was the rod bearing.

would it still run if that was the prob thought?

Ya it would run for a little bit than lock up. You might have cought it before to mutch damage.

It could also be something else.

More than likely its a crank bearing failure. I started seeing metal in my oil and pulled the motor for a rebuild over the weekend.
