just sold my 400 ex today and im going to buy a 450r this weekend, they are the same price so i get to pick between the two, which one do you guys think is nicer? (they are both 05 and basically stock btw)

The black shows the scratches alot faster. I have an 04 red and when Im done riding I would wash it and wd40 the plastics. It would look new again.

If you don't care about color, the black one does already have a set of handlebars;) .

theres your answer. black fades and doesnt look as good after a few rides.

very true, thats part of the reason wh yi am leanign towards the black one, but i also do have a pair of renthals at home waiting for a new quad already..:)

get the one with the least hours that looks nicest, the red one also has aftermarket clamps it looks like

the red one looks like it has nice bars on it and possibly a stem. if you know both the people who are selling them then who seems like the more responsible person. which would mean they would take better care of the quad. but based on the picture id say go with the red

ask about the shocks on the red one.
they may be re-sprung and re-valved.
if so, get the red one.

If the red one doesn't have much of anything aftermarket over the black, get the black. It looks way better IMO. All you need is to spray it down with some armor-all and let it sit on there and it will stay looking good..

its the same owner, he bought them for himself and his brother, they only went riding together and they both have only seen trails, both have 40 hours on them, im going to look at them friday after school ,and hopefully i will come home with one:)
