guys with quadtech hood please read

could someone please measure a 04/05 and 06 quad tech hood for a 450r for me. I measured the one I just received but it is 8" wide from the narrowest point (measured from the backside), and 19.5" long (measured from tip to tip on the backside).

I try to install it on my bike but it is too skinny. It leaves gaps, and is way too long also.

Im thinking this one must be for a 04/05 450r, or they completely messed up the order and sent me a 400ex hood.

The new hood requires you to loosen the brackets that hold the quads plastic side panels. Fit the hood then tighten the brackets in their new position.

I tried installig it yesterday again and I removed the side brackets that hold the fenders, and it seems like its gonna work. But there is still a very small gap inbetween the hood and fenders. Any suggestions on how I could get a perfect fit?

Did you happen to trim the inner part of the shrouds? There's a couple of little tabs that I ground down per Quad Tech's instructions.

yea you gota cut them, quadtech hoods suck they dont even fit good

I installed the hood last night it looks awesome, I really like the look the skinny hood gives the 450r. The trick to installing it was removing the side fender brackets like oldsandman stated.

yes, please post pics, i want to see how it looks. cant deceide between maier one peice or just a quad tech hood.
