sell 400ex for a z400

i have a 00 400ex with the mods in my sign. and i have a chance to buy a 04 z400 with pipe, nerfs, skids, and outerwears for 4000, it is in great condition, a girl had it and doesn't ride it anymore. you think it is a good deal. just wondering what would be faster, i have beaten some z's before, just wondering you you guys think before i try to sell my 400.

You may like it better. Has reverse and is liquid cooled, both BIG plusses. 400EX is pretty bulletproof, if you race, watch the frame on the Z....you'll need to gussett it if you MX at all. Other than that, I like the Z better than the 400EX.

I think the Z is an all around better choice for trail riding. I loved my EX and would love to have another one, but the Z makes me smile longer, until the frame cracks... againnnn ;)

A Z is def better than a 400ex, but personally if i was you, I would wait and save up for a 450. However, if that is out of your price range, it would definenty be an improvement

Depending on what kind of riding you like to do... 400ex IMO is a better whellie quad but the z will be faster with those mods on it. reverse liquid cooled, I would do it but im a suzuki lover so its up to you.

400ex anyday. I have a KFX and its a turd. It runs good, while it runs that is. I have done all preventive maintence etc on this KfX and it constantly is having to be worked on. I have spent an easy $2000 to keep it running, and its in the shop as we speak. I've owned both and the 400ex is a much better quad.

Well, judging by your signiture, you ride in the dunes. I'd go for the z400 mainly because its liquid cooled and has better cooling for the hot dune weather.

Personally, I don't see enough of an improvement between the two quads to warrant spending the extra $$$.

Sure you're gaining a little faster quad but at what price? If money's burning a hole in your pocket by all means, jump at it. But if it takes $4k to buy it and you can't get yours sold for much more than $2500 then that's expensive IMO.

BTW, I ride a 400EX and my brother in law has an Arctic Cat DVX400 (aka z400) I like mine much better but that's probably mostly because I'm more comfortable on it
