well about 2 weeks ago i got an email from the director.manager of my district. he said i couldnt race since my age, but i could still practice, all i needed was my atva card. well i get all siked up for the practice(first one) then he emails me back again and says "oh sorry, you actually cant practice, im sorry" Now this jus pisses me off... Sorry about the long post, i jus had to vent. Guess this means i get 5more months to practice.

So you aerent even allowed to go to open practice? Or are you talking about something else? I havnt had any trouble going to open practice and being 15. I am able to race in less than a month now, and the first race is 3 days after I turn 16.

JRP
02-27-2006, 01:45 PM
nope, cant do anything on a real mx track... They said i have to be 16 before i can ride on any of the tracks. I think its bull****. IMO, guess ill jus practice harder so when i do start racing ill be prepared.:blah:

02-27-2006, 01:57 PM
parents signature?

That really sucks. I dont think any of the tracks around me care how old you are on a quad, unless you are trying to race, then you have be 16. I would be SO bad right now if I hadnt been able to practice on the tracks around here for the past 2 years.

JRP
02-27-2006, 02:01 PM
they jsu said absolultley no way I could ride on the tracks untill im 16. i dont see why not, but they said even me not racing, i still cant even practice on the tracks untill im 16.

02-27-2006, 02:29 PM
Ive never gone to practice at a track that ur age matters.

Just go anyway

You havta be 16 to get the card I think , and if the track owner requires the showing of the ama card then your screwed  hate to say it pal . Just go to another track and practice all summer then get a few races in , in the fall . ;)

JRP
02-27-2006, 03:38 PM
well i mean i already have my atva card... And theres no other tracks around here that will let me ride since my age... I think ill jus start practicing at Garys aka Twizted's house... I here hes got a cool track...

Just go to an "open" practice not a race weekend practice and you can ride. You are not allowed to practice on a race weekend unless you sign up to race.

hey jerry, they wouldnt care if i went when it was jus an open practice? Other then a practice before the race?

You do not need a atva card to go to a open practice therefor they do not check your age. You will still need an adult to go with you cause you are under 18. Who did you talk to?

JRP
02-27-2006, 06:18 PM
Carl Reynolds(sp?) Like i emailed him about 3 times and I said I was 15 and rode a trx450r. Then the 2nd to last time i emailed him i didnt say what quad i rode... and he said it was fine for my to practice. Then i emailed him again to make sure i could and i said what quad i was riding and how old i was, Then he said I couldnt ride/practice. Maybe he forgot what quad i rode? all these emails were inbetween a 2wk period.

He's d-13 chairman. Both of his son's race quads so he makes sure we are treated fairly

I'm not sure what you're beef is, but you're popping yourself up on radar pretty effectively.

Consider yourself warned. Keep comments like this to yourself, or you'll soon find it difficult to post comments at all.

I don't know about your district. But over here you can be like 11 on a 450 or 400 to ride open practice. You just cant race.

When are you turning 16?

I'm sure they will let you, I mean your a bigger guy and you look at least 16.

JRP

I dont turn 16 untill september, so i mean worse comes to worse I just have to wait 6more months. That 6 more months i can practice and become better. One thing about open practice is there is not alot of them. Hey jerry i just wrote Gary a email. Hopefully he can help me out.

Haha ya, but I wan to make sure its ok to race or practice before we drive 2hrs to a track and find out that I cant. I would rather do that with budds creek, since its like 45min away.

02-27-2006, 06:42 PM
Worse comes to worse you can just make a trip up to Rausch Creek or E-town or something.

JRP
02-27-2006, 06:43 PM
haha very true... Ill probably have to wait untill fall to do that, Once i have my liscense.

02-27-2006, 06:53 PM
damnnnnnnn I just map quested it and that's a 4 hour drive to E-town from where you live. Rausch creek would probably be closer to you though.

02-27-2006, 08:16 PM
You need to show a birth certificate, you can't just say you're 16, it doesn't work like that.

I don't know about you guys, but for my district I had to send out a copy of my birth certificate to get my district card so I can race.

I don't mean to sound like a Jerk, but you have been invited to several tracks around our area where alot of local MX guys ride and you never show. So what is the big deal with going to a race track that follows the ama rules. We only ride at most places during a race day but we ride almost every weekend. If you show up and get in the loop you will find places to ride alot easier than complaining on atvriders.
Tracks have to follow ama/atva rules or the can loose there sanctioning. How would you like to be the cause of no more Nationals coming to BuddsCreek?

Ok, I'm kind of confused... Are you talking about practicing in the morning practices on a race day or open practices?

If your talking about practicing on a race day with the people that are racing then I doubt you will get to no matter how old you are unless your racing. The only time I've ever seen people practice and not race on a race day is when the facilities have nother track open for just practice.

On the other hand if your talking about doing an open practice most tracks wont check your age and only require and adult with you if your under 18 so there should be no problem there.

I know what you mean. But i usually cant go anywhere on sundays because my dad is either workning or he plays golf, So i usually cant go anywhere. Ive gotten invited to garys once. But i usually need to know about 3days in advance, since my dad needs to make plans. I know that i cant go to budds.
