Yep, all the joints on those arms are heims. And Full Flight doesn't use quality heims btw, I wouldn't bother with those arms at all..JMO

When ever heim joints are used in the application where they see alot of thrust type force they are not going to last too long. They are designed to be used as the ones that mount to the frame.

Not even. Heims are intended to be used to apply the force from end to end on the heim. Like if you held a pencil between two hands and pulled on it like you were trying to pull it apart (axial/linear force). It would be hard to do this for a normal person.

Both the heims that mount to the frame and the spindles are being used to fight a lateral force being applied to them (The a-arms are being pushed back from the front). Like if you held that same pencil but instead tried to snap it in half (lateral force). It is much easier to break the pencil this way.

The heims lose a considerable amount of tensile strength when used like they are on quad arms.

But apparently they work well and are strong enough, or Gibson wouln't fit my +3+1 a-arms with them, along with John Natalie's either... If heims can withstand to the riding abilities of John Natalie, I think the rest of us are safe with them.....

But can us normal riders afford to replace the heim joints after each and every ride?

LOL, you don't have to replace them after every ride!!!! I've got them, I ride them, have for a while! You are good for probably around 2 years for a set, and then you replace them. You all are acting like they are a curse to own, but I think it boils down to you all don't own them, therefore, you don't know them.

I could not agree more. Dont know about the Full Flight arms, but the JB arms on my TT 450R seem to be fine... oh yeah, the heims on my XC 300ex seem ok too. Dont knock it if you havent tried it.
