if you want it to pull harder, get a front sprocket 1 tooth smaller. very cheap and a very noticable mod. only around $15

what do you mean by make it sound better, if your taking out your baffle its a loss in performance. take off the airbox lid but you might have to rejet but that dosent cost very much. but for not buying anyhting i guess you could grease your chain really good  or have ur tire pressure exactly the same in each tire. take anything off you dont need to lose a few pounds.

i got a 14t to ride on trails and for hill climbing, i felt like i lost alot of topend with it. i put my 16t on for more wide open rides. i usualy use the 15t for mx but not always. just experiment till you find a sprocket that you like the best. only cost like $15 each

yes it will take some top end away.BUT... how often do you wind out 5th gear? and how often do you ride in 2nd and 3rd gear? If your like most your in 2nd and 3rd more than anything. I hardly ever even hit 5th , much less wind it out.

you could spend 10 on a timing anvance key if it is a low comp piston i cant tell you what it does performance wise but that is the cheapest upgrade i can think of besides cuttin holes in you air lid but then you may still have to rejet for that $2- $3 for a jet.

If your going down 1 tooth in the front wouldnt that take soem top end from all the gears?
